India’s Apparel Exporters Demand Tax Incentives

Indian apparel exporters, represented by the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), are urging the government to consider crucial tax incentives in the upcoming Union Budget. They seek the removal of mandatory 45-day payments to MSMEs for tax deductions, customs duty exemptions on garment machinery, and an interest equalization rate of 5% to enhance competitiveness against rivals like Bangladesh and Vietnam. AEPC Chairman Sudhir Sekhri stressed that these measures could significantly empower the sector to thrive in the global market. Source and details of the news
